I recently had the pleasure to create a logo for my friend’s cake business. Here is the the process from concept to finish.

Sketches

After meeting with the client and her sharing the ideas she had I drew out some sketches. Sketches are the only way to start a logo. It’s a quick way to get a lot of ideas out of my mind and onto paper.

Initial Proofs

After I have some pretty solid ideas, I open up my design software (in this case I used Adobe Illustrator) and get to work refining some of these ideas. I generally like to do 3 or 4 of these to send to the client.

Revision Rounds

She loved them, but had a few suggestions on what she liked and didn’t like. I went back to work to revise her favorite logo. I like to do a variety of these to give more design options.

Final Logo

Even with these changes, there was still a need to finalize with some feed back from the client.
